Nestled among the mountains of the Northern Alps, Tsugaike Nature Park is one of Japan’s finest highland marshes, located at an elevation of 1,860 meters, where charming alpine flowers bloom one after another throughout the season.

Each season brings its own unique beauty to enjoy.
Conveniently located near the trailhead at the entrance of the natural park, Tsugaike Hutte serves as an excellent base for hikes to Mt. Hakuba-Norikura, Hakuba Oike Lake, and further on to Mt. Korenge and Mt. Hakuba.

Please access the area via the Tsugaike gondola & ropeway.

Japanese Style Dormitory Room

The Japanese-style rooms are simple and warm, creating a unique space in a mountain hut that fosters interaction between hikers.

Bunk Bed Dormitory Room

This room has several bunk beds. Close the curtains and you can relax in your own private space.

Capacity: 2~4 guests Area: 9.7㎡
A private room suitable for 3~4 people. It will make your stay at the mountain hut even more comfortable.

Fees

  • Receive a student discount of JPY 3,000 by presenting a valid student card.
    [Applicable to postgraduates, undergraduates, vocational school, high school and junior high school students. Not available during: Jul 19 to Aug 17, Sep 13~15, Sep 20~23, Oct 11~13, and school hiking trips]
  • An additional fee of JPY 3,000 will be charged for guest who stays without a prior reservation
  • Private Room Fees:
    Private room fee is charged separately from the basic accommodation fee
    Example of accommodation fee calculation (Private room. 1 night with 2 meals):
     4 guests staying in a 6-tatami private room: 14,000 x 4 + 12,000 = JPY 68,000

Cancellation Policy

  • A cancellation fee will be charged according to the following conditions:
    • No-show: 100% of the accommodation fee
    • On the day of stay: 30% of the accommodation fee
    • After 16:00 on the day before: 30% of the accommodation fee
    • Before 16:00 on the day before: No charge
  • The cancellation fee applies to both the basic accommodation fee and the private room fee. Student discounts are not applicable.
  • Even in cases of cancellation due to bad weather or physical condition, cancellation fees will be charged. However, please prioritize your safety and avoid unsafe hiking.
  • If you are required to change your plans and stay at another mountain hut within our group, no cancellation fee will be charged; however, an additional fee of JPY 2,000 will apply.
  • No cancellation fee will be charged in the following cases:
    • If a special warning or weather alert is issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency for the area on the day of your stay.
    • If you are physically unable to reach the mountain hut on the day of your stay due to road closures or similar circumstances.

RENTAL ITEMS

Crampons

JPY1,500

We offer lightweight 4-point crampons for rent at Sarukuraso Hut, Hakuba Sanso Lodge and Tsugaike Hutte. You can rent them directly at any of the huts without reservation. When you return the crampons to any of the huts, we will refund the deposit of JPY 500 to you.

We offer a wide selection of original goods, including hand towels, pin badges, and T-shirts.
We also have drinks and snacks available, so please feel free to stop by.

Body soap, shampoo, and hair dryers are available.
Bath hours for overnight guests: 15:00 – 20:00

The bath features water enriched with natural minerals using a mineral activation system.
Dozens of ions such as calcium carbonate, potassium, and sodium are continuously released from active stones into the water. The slightly alkaline water warms the body thoroughly and is considered beneficial for overall health. Please enjoy its smooth and gentle texture. Towels are available for purchase. Please note that amenities such as toothbrushes are not provided, so kindly bring your own.
