A rare mountain hut where you can enjoy a hidden hot spring at an elevation of 2,100 meters.

Located on the mid-slope of Mt. Hakubayari, this above-the-clouds hot spring requires over four hours of hiking whether you traverse from Mt. Hakuba or ascend from Sarukura.
From the open-air bath, you can take in breathtaking views of the renowned peaks of the Shinetsu region, as well as stunning sunrises and star-filled skiesーan experience of unmatched beauty.

The room has a traditional mountain hut atmosphere. One of the best parts of staying in a mountain hut is to chat with other hikers in the room.

Campsite

Camping is a luxurious experience that you can have the silence and starry sky all to yourself. Waking up to birds chirping in the morning and enjoying the fresh mountain air. You can travel at your own pace and get a sense of accomplishment and have an extraordinary experience.

Fees

  • Receive a student discount of JPY 3,000 by presenting a valid student card. (JPY 1,000 discount for camping)
    [Applicable to postgraduates, undergraduates, vocational school, high school and junior high school students. Not available during: Jul 19 to Aug 17, Sep 13~15, Sep 20~23, Oct 11~13, and school hiking trips]
  • An additional fee will be charged for guests who stay without a prior reservation. (JPY 3,000 for mountain hut; JPY 2,000 for campsite)
  • Camping fee: JPY 2,000 per person & JPY 2,000 per tent
    1 guests using 1 tent: 2,000 + 2,000 = JPY 4,000
    2 guests using 1 tent: 2,000 x 2 + 2,000 = JPY 6,000
  • Onsen entrance fee:
    For campers, day hikers, and pass-through visitors (Free for guests staying at the mountain hut)
    Adult: JPY 1,500 / Elementary School Student: JPY 1,000 
  • Basic Accommodation Fee
    1 stay with 2 meals: JPY 16,000 (adult) / JPY 10,000 (elementary school student)
    1 stay with dinner: JPY 14,500 (adult) / JPY 8,500 (elementary school student)
    1 stay with breakfast: JPY 13,500 (adult) / JPY 7,500 (elementary school student)
    1 stay without meals: JPY 12,000 (adult) / JPY 6,000 (elementary school student)

Cancellation Policy

  • A cancellation fee will be charged according to the following conditions:
    • No-show: 100% of the accommodation fee
    • On the day of stay: 30% of the accommodation fee
    • After 16:00 on the day before: 30% of the accommodation fee
    • Before 16:00 on the day before: No charge
  • The cancellation fee applies to both the basic accommodation fee and the private room fee. Student discounts are not applicable.
  • Even in cases of cancellation due to bad weather or physical condition, cancellation fees will be charged. However, please prioritize your safety and avoid unsafe hiking.
  • If you are required to change your plans and stay at another mountain hut within our group, no cancellation fee will be charged; however, an additional fee of JPY 2,000 will apply.
  • No cancellation fee will be charged in the following cases:
    • If a special warning or weather alert is issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency for the area on the day of your stay.
    • If you are physically unable to reach the mountain hut on the day of your stay due to road closures or similar circumstances.

Yari Onsen Open-air Bath

Yari Onsen Open-air Bath

Entrance Fee (for campers, day hikers, and pass-through visitors):
・Adult: JPY1,500
・Elementary School Student: JPY 1,000
・Infant: Free
The bath facilities include a mixed-gender open-air bath and a women-only indoor bath.
From 20:00 to 21:00, the open-air bath becomes women-only, and men use the indoor bath instead.
Please note that times may vary.

The hot spring source flows from a large rock fissure behind the lodge, with natural spring water at 43.1°C, flowing directly from the source without circulation. The flow rate is approximately 760 litres per minute, making it one of the highest natural spring outputs in Japan at this elevation.

The water is a bicarbonate spring, containing sulfur, magnesium, and calcium. It has a strong sulfur scent and a slightly silky texture.It is said to be beneficial for neuralgia, sensitivity to cold, fatigue recovery, skin conditions, muscle pain, and frozen shoulder.
